What lawn care costs in Mississauga
We are not going to publish a price list, and this article explains why — along with everything that goes into the number.
Lawn maintenance in the GTA is priced per visit or per season, and the range across the market is wide enough that a quoted number tells you very little on its own. What matters is what drives it.
What actually moves the price
- Turf square footage, which is not the same as lot size
- Frequency, where weekly costs less per visit than bi-weekly
- Obstacles, because trees, beds and play structures mean trimming rather than mowing
- Gates and access, since a narrow gate changes what equipment can be used
- Slope, which slows everything down
- Whether bed care, hedges and cleanups are bundled or booked separately
- Where you are, because route density genuinely affects what a company can charge
Why we measure before quoting
A property with a large frontage and a small back garden looks expensive from the street and is not. A modest-looking lot with heavy bed edging and twenty trees to trim around takes far longer than its square footage suggests.
We measure the turf and look at the obstacles before giving a number, which is why we ask for an address rather than quoting on the phone.
The number you can quote from the street is the number that gets revised in June.
Bundling costs less than booking piecemeal
A crew already on your property for the weekly cut can weed a bed or shape a hedge at marginal cost. The same work as a one-off callout carries the full cost of getting there. Bundled maintenance is almost always cheaper per task than the sum of separate bookings.
Why the cheapest quote often is not
Under-quoted work gets absorbed somewhere: fewer minutes on site, skipped trimming, a mower set too low because it is faster. Or the price is revised upward once the season is underway and switching is inconvenient.
What we would look for is a quote where the visit count, the scope and the season total are all stated, so you can compare like with like.
Fertilization is separate, deliberately
